The aim of this site is to bring together Gippsland safety providers onto one central directory - a one stop safety shop for Gippsland.
STOP PRESS:
1. OHS Harmonisation delayed in Victoria?? The Victorian Government recently petitioned the Federal Government to delay the introduction of the new nationally harmonised Work Health and Safety legislation siting failure to agree with the Regulatory Impacts of the newly revised WHS Regulations. So at present, we don't know when the laws will be introduced, but it should just be a matter of when not if. That said, it's still very worthwhile to get an undertanding of the differences that will impact on you & your business. At best, you'll have an extra 12 months to prepare. If you're compliant with the current OHS laws, you're well on your way to complying with the new laws. But if you're not compliant now, then you should already be doing something about it!
2. Congratulations to the East Gippsland OHS Network for being judged as a finalist in the inaugural GSI East Gippsland Business Awards, Business and Professional Services Category. Although not technically a business, the Network was recognised for 11 years of providing valuable professional services to the East Gippsland Community. Many registered members of the Network were themselves finalists and award winners at the Awards dinner held on 7 October.
